As you can see from my latest works I am concentrating on the influences that my music and scientific background implicates, such things as useless circular movement and repetition (its metaphor). These 2 elements are fundamental reoccurring dimensions especially if we consider that all information move in a circular way, like on CDs, DVD, magnetic supports or films, etc, but also planets and galaxies moves following circular orbits. I want to put the principles of official physics up for aesthetic debate to come to surprising practical conclusions such as curved shaped skateboards or curved stretched-Limousine (for the Guggenheim Museum in New York). Although, we tend to consider its aesthetic as symbol of credibility I believe that Technology is the greatest contemporary utopia but also the greatest ambiguity. My polymorphic action is located in this ambiguity, destabilising common logical laws, its language, creating ambiguity but paradoxically also credibility, challenging the modern idea of ergonomic work, and experimenting the opposite: the useless repeting wasting of energy. My action is the action of a researcher but also the action of a DJ, remixing meanings into a new form of intuition. Davide Bertocchi |
