Over a longer period and through various projects I researched and worked on the idea of knowledge production in relation to curatorial strategies and attitudes.
The research headed of with the dissertation I wrote on extra-muros exhibitions with Chambre d’Amis as the central case study. This research I continued with the conception of the symposium and book Out of the Studio under the artistic direction of Jan Debbaut.
While studying at Goldsmiths University of London, I initiated together with Francesco Pedraglio the project ‘confusion as a mode of sensibility’, a long-term collaboration between different artists resulting in a series of structurally curated outcomes.
It explored relations that actively engage with misunderstandings and contradictions and investigated the confused state as a productive zone in between supposition and knowledge. Within my work with FormContent, we have been working in a fast-paced rhythm developing and underlining the different models of communication between artists and curators by tackling curatorial strategies that open up the discussions we aim to address within the context of a curatorial project space.
