This is the 1st Solo Exhibition of the brazilian artist in Brazil. Wilma Kun lives and works since 20 years between Milan and Rotterdam.
The artistic work that I have been developing for some years is focused on the concept of identity. This concept is declined, in all my works, through the use of my image. There are different aspects of the concept of identity which I have considered in my artistic research, such as: the sexual identity; the capacity of perception of ourselves; the reconstruction of identity’s idea through the personal and collective memory; as well as the influence of media in the contemporary culture for the definition of identity. Wilma Kun uses differents media, from installation, drawing, photos to video.
