The screening will include:
1) Marcus Bergner: Introduction
2) Perforce
(1968, 16mm, colour, sound, 12mins)
Elements of mythology and teleology coalesce poetically and performatively within this important political film from the 60s.
3) Un’altro giorno, un’altro giorno, un’altro giorno
(2007, HDV, colour, sound, 42mins, English subtitles)
This recent experimental documentary deals with time and the political imagination and is shot entirely in Rome and Lazio prisons.
4) discussion and, if audience allows, a bonus film

Gianfranco Barcuchello was born in 1923 in Livorno and lives/works in Rome. His paintings, assemblages, films/videos have been exhibited and collected in major museums throughout Europe and America. He has played a key role in the Italian art scene since the early 1960’s and with Henry Martin co-authored: How to Imagine: A Narrative on Art and Agriculture (1983), Why Duchump: An essay on Aesthetic Impact (1985) and Fragments of a Possible Apocalypse (1978).

The films will be introduced by the Australian artist/filmmaker, Marcus Bergner, who is currently teaching experimental film at FAMU. He also recently conducted a series of literary/culinary workshops at Skolska 28 in Prague.
