The universe of Nedko Solakov (b. 1957, Cherven Briag, Bulgaria) occupies a singular position in the contemporary art scene. Within it the artist questions the conventions of everyday life, the stereotypes of behaviour and thinking, articulating his own personal history with collective history, the private sphere with the social dimension, reality with imagination.
‘All in Order, with Exceptions’, Solakov’s major retrospective to this date, is co-produced by Serralves in collaboration with three other important European art centres, each presenting its own choice of works, one for each year in the period 1980–2010.

The Serralves Foundation has been installed in a unique estate, housing a Museum of Contemporary Art, a fabulous Park encompassing gardens and rural areas, a 1930s art deco Villa, a 260-seater Auditorium along with leisure facilities, restaurants and shops.

Free of charge subject to acquisition of an entrance ticket in the Museum.
On Sundays, entrance is free of charge from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.. The free ticket is valid until 1.30pm.
