1+1+1+… giovani curatori occupano Il Crepaccio

Dopo l’ormai consueto letargo invernale, Il Crepaccio riapre la stagione espositiva dando il via ad una catena di Sant’Antonio curatoriale. Uno dopo l’altro, alcuni curatori di stanza a Milano, si passeranno il testimone all’interno della vetrina su strada.
Una catena di Sant’Antonio insolita e produttiva che, in onore del “santo protettore” del Crepaccio, viene ribattezzata La catena di San Maurizio.

La catena continua martedì 6 maggio con Aftershape a cura di Luca Castiglioni.

HD85512b, un pianeta simile alla Terra e che potrebbe ospitare forme di vita, è stato recentemente scoperto dall' Eso (European Southern Observatory). Come nei migliori film di tradizione Sci Fi, la nuova terra accende le fantasie di tutti gli appartenenti a quelle derive filosofiche e antropologiche che vedono in questo nuovo mondo, l'occasione per una nuova genesi dell'umanità, priva delle debolezze e dei limiti che quella attuale ha raggiunto. In un'orgia di riferimenti e suggestioni vicine all' human plus o al post-human, l'uomo ipotizza il dopo uomo, ricodificandosi e re-interpretando i vari aspetti della propria esistenza.

La realtà che cerca un nuovo senso da dare a se stessa, superando quei limiti che porteranno alla creazione di nuove necessità e, quindi, di nuove funzionalità da trovare o da immaginare.

Rem Koolhaas - per la prossima Biennale di Archittettura - risignificherà i 'fundamentals' della progettazione nel loro senso più elementare (muro, tetto, pavimento,porta...); Duchamp ha rivoluzionato il senso dell'essere oggetto e dell'essere opera d'arte; il futurismo regala un altro valore al suono della mitragliatrice e alla percezione della velocità. In questi esempi i limiti di familiarità e intimità saltano e proiettano verso una nuova estetica. La stessa che Henrik Olai Kaarstein (b.1989, Oslo), per la sua prima personale a Milano, propone nel lavoro inedito Reputation 24, annullando la funzionalità di un asciugamano e modificandone le connotazioni più intime, private e sessuali, grazie all'uso di colori acrilici e vinilici, che ne snaturano l'estetica presentandoci un oggetto che 'ha la forma di qualcosa...'.
Come quando si descrive ciò che ancora non conosciamo con degli esempi a noi vicini...ad esempio, un pianeta che sembra la terra, ma non lo è.

1+1+1+… young curators occupy Il Crepaccio

After its usual winter break, Il Crepaccio reopens its exhibition program starting some sort of a ‘curatorial chain letter’ (in Italian, Catena di Sant’Antonio). One after the other, some Milan-based curators will pass the baton to each other inside the street window.
An unusual and fertile chain letter, which – in honor of Il Crepaccio’s patron saint - has been renamed La Catena di San Maurizio.

The chain will go on on Tuesday, May 6 with Aftershape curated by Luca Castiglioni.

HD85512b, a planet similar to Earth that could host life forms, has been recently discovered by ESO (European Southern Observatory).
As in the best Sci Fi movie tradition, the new earth turns on all philosophical and anthropological drifts members’ fantasies, which see the opportunity for a new mankind genesis , without weaknesses and limits that the current one has reached.
In an orgy of references and suggestions close to human plus or post-human, man supposes the post-man, re-codify and re-interpreting different aspects of his life. Reality try to give a new meaning to itself , surpassing those limits that will lead to the creation of new necessity and, therefore, to find or to imagine new functionality.
Rem Koolhaas - for the next Venice Architecture Biennale – will re-mean in their most basic sense the 'fundamentals' of planning (wall, roof, floor, door ... ); Duchamp revolutionized the sense of being an object and being a work of art; futurism gives another value to the sound of a machine gun and the perception of speed.
In these examples the limits of familiarity and intimacy go off and project ourselves toward a new aesthetic. This is the same one that Henrik Olai Kaarstein (1989, Oslo), for his first solo show in Milan, offers in his unreleased work 24 Reputation, canceling the functionality of a towel and changing its most intimate, private and sex connotations , using acrylics and vinyl paints, which distort its aesthetics, presenting an object which ’has the form of something ...‘. As when we describe things we don’t know yet with an example of something familiar to us... For example, a planet that looks like earth, but it’s not.
