Artists on Artists Lecture Series
Established in 2001, "Artists on Artists Lecture Series" highlights the work of contemporary artists from the perspective of their colleagues and peers, and focuses on artists in Dia's collection and exhibition programs. Leslie Hewitt was born in New York in 1977, where she lives and works. Hewitt's work, which occupies a space between photography and sculpture, investigates how visual representation shapes readings of history, collective memory, and political consciousness. Recent group exhibitions include Test Pattern, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2013) and Body Language at the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York (2013). Her most recent solo exhibition was presented at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (2012). Monday, May 19, 2014, 6:30 pm. Image: Carl Andre, 5 x 20 Altstadt Rectangle, 1967.
