The basis of this work rests on the lack of knowledge Francophones have of themselves, and therefore aims to encourage a reciprocal knowledge and recognition. The idea is to make people interested in others, and maybe, to contribute modestly to the development of the french-speaking phenomenon that is as poorly known to the outsider as it is within French-speaking countries themselves. This exhibition consists of pictures and texts recorded in various Francophone countries by artist and traveller Yvan le Soudier.

ARTIST'S STATMENT
The French-speaking world: a beautiful, unrecognised idea that deserves more than to be celebrated only once per year for a day that is dedicated to it, or even once every 2 years during the brief length of the Summit that generally passes (almost) unnoticed in France.
To simply contribute to this idea of a permanent diffusion of the French-speaking world, I created a work on Francophones, supported, notably, by the Agency of the French-Speaking World.
It consists of a book that brings together 8 French-speaking countries on 4 continents with pictures and texts (of reflections expressed by the people themselves), accompanied by a CD (sonorous ambiences of each of the countries), and prolonged by exhibitions, pretexts to meet with the young and the less young.
This work rests on the lack of knowledge of Francophones among themselves, and therefore aims to favour a reciprocal knowledge and recognition. The idea was to make people interested in others, and maybe, modestly, to contribute to the development of the French-speaking phenomenon that is as poorly known to the outsider as it is within French-speaking countries.
