The Museum of Modern Art - MoMA, New York

Video art began in the mid-1960s, when portable video equipment became available on the consumer market. At that time, it was impossible to predict to what extent video would be an effective means of artistic expression. This exhibition, drawn entirely from the Museum's extensive collection, looks at video's evolution from clean slate to evolved art form.

This month's program includes work that explores issues of identity.

Video Time was organized by Barbara London, Associate Curator, Department of Film and Video.
