Considered one of the top photography collectors in the world, Sir Elton John has built a collection over the past ten years that is distinguished by its exceptional quality and remarkable range and depth. This exhibition, on view in conjunction with "Celebrity Portraits from the Sir Elton John Collection," marks the first time Sir Elton will share his extraordinary collection with the public.

Considered one of the top photography collectors in the world, Sir Elton John has built a collection over the past ten years that is distinguished by its exceptional quality and remarkable range and depth. This exhibition, on view in conjunction with "Celebrity Portraits from the Sir Elton John Collection," marks the first time Sir Elton will share his extraordinary collection with the public.

"Celebrity Portraits from the Sir Elton John Collection" is presented at the High's downtown location and includes approximately 70 photographs of artists, writers, musicians and other luminaries. Among the portraits are: Bob Willoughby's portrait of jazz great Billie Holiday, Alfred Stieglitz photographs of Georgia O'Keeffe, Andy Warhol's self-portraits in drag, Richard Avedon's portraits of the Beatles, Irving Penn portraits of Joe Louis, Spencer Tracey, Pablo Picasso and others, and several artist's portraits of Sir Elton John throughout his career.

The High Museum of Art is the only venue for these exhibitions. "Chorus of Light: Photographs from the Sir Elton John Collection" features approximately 320 masterpieces by renowned photographers, including Berenice Abbott, Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, André Kertész, Tina Modotti, Paul Outerbridge, Norman Parkinson, Irving Penn, Man Ray, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz, and Edward Weston, to name only a few.

Admission to the High Museum of Art Folk Art and Photography Galleries is free.

Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday, noon - 5 p.m.
Closed Mondays.
