International videoart screening

Concept. The project focuses on videos and films dealing with various phenomena, peculiarities and problems of urban life. The title of the project - Urban Flesh and Blood - is a metaphor of coexistence of natural and artificial, or perhaps of replacement: today we are not just flesh and blood, we are urban flesh and blood consisting of the mass media and speed, long distances and Internet, polluted air and advertisement, scientific and technological progress. On the one hand city is an artificial organism, through the veins of which electricity and information are flowing. On the other hand it’s a living mechanism set in motion by society, every member of which exists according to a definite scheme. The project aims to present an overview of visual interpretations of contemporary urban life and its subtle penetration into our blood.
