Unit II - Cyprus, Passing Time. Having lived for more than 15 years in “far away" lands, and frequently conducting small-scale ethnographic studies, it is no surprise that Pittas’ current photo - interests are people.
Passing Time
Marios Pittas was born in 1966 on the island of Cyprus. At the age of twenty-one,
Marios moved to London, England, where he obtained his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in
Computer Science from the University of London. In 1993, Pittas moved to Singapore
where he is a permanent resident. He lives there with his wife, Ching Siew, their three
children, Zoe, Louiza and Theodore, two budgies and an unknown number of fish.
Having lived for more than 15 years in “far away" lands, and frequently conducting
small-scale ethnographic studies, it is no surprise that Pittas’ current photo-interests
are people, their environment and their interactions with the environment.
Marios Pittas first presented some of his photo work in a group exhibition at the Singapore
