Evan Walker

In 2000, I was painting a portrait of “Ana." It wasn’t working: the colors weren’t right. I could have followed the old path that artists have used for centuries-trial and error-but I chose to put it on the computer. I experimented with the colors, and checked for contrast. Suddenly, “Ana’s Mystique" was born. All that was needed was to take what had been created and paint it as oil on canvas. Then I realized that by using the computer, our most expansive tool, I could generate more images of Ana for the canvas. These paintings - all born of that one original portrait - make up the exhibit “Postmodern Ana" - a new approach to Art that rejects the cynicism of Post Art and continues where 20th century Reductionism left off. It continues with Synthesism.

Maqura Joy Lustig

I paint both contemporary abstract and representational images using an ancient technique called encaustic - a “healing “art. For me, inspiration abounds in both the heavens and the earth. Inspired by geometric combinations in nature, I seek to point out the “extraordinary" in the ordinary and my paintings have a strong spiritual element to them. They are vibrant, colorful portrayals of various Aspects of Creation. I find this versatile medium to be a perfect vehicle to express my passion for life!

Aviva Beigel

In my works I adopt the Gestalt theory "the whole is more than it's parts". It suggests that understanding a structure as a whole depends on our ability to see all its parts and the full comprehension of the whole will always reveal a richer structure than the simple combination of it parts. Through Art I deal with what interests me most: people. What are their dreams, memories, feelings, emotions and thoughts? I try to combine bits of joy and love, pain, fear and fantasy, which I view as fragments of life.

Steven Rehfeld

My oil, acrylic, mixed media paintings, and sculptures explore the relationship between the progressive cutting edge; ... between personal and cultural; between the figure and social landscape; between the human and iconography. They create a dialog about how the immaterial "touches" the "material". Foremost, the above relationships are explorations in color contrast forms...negative/positive space/inaddition,... visual kinetic dynamic's energy interact with these relations, ... and finally, the fusing of abstract art with realism art.
