L'art et l'amour
curated by Andres Pardey
First exhibition by Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle in Spain, realized in cooperation with the Museum Tinguely in Basilea and the Museum Sprengel in Hannover. From the sixties onwards, Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely perform their roles as the “Bonnie and Clyde of art”, assuming the roles of the rebel aristocrat and the ambitious working class man. Their relationship, without precedent in the world of art, ruled their lives, their love and their work.
The CAAM (Atlantic Modern Art Centre) presents this relationship through their letters and a great ammount of photographs which show the couple as the main actors of the exciting film which their love relationship and common life was. The exhibition gathers almost 300 works of art among sculptures, drawings and engravings. In addition to 300 photographs about their lives (100 out of them, vintage copies) and 4 documentaries.
