Il video e' stato girato in un'interno con una ripresa in camera fissa, mostrando una figura fuori campo che poggia una copia della famosa Bibbia nazista su uno dei fuochi di una cucina a gas. Lo Studio Stefania Miscetti è lieta di annunciare la presentazione di una
nuova opera video, inedita, di Paolo Canevari dal titolo Burning Mein Kampf.
L'opera, prodotta nel 2008, si colloca come continuum della serie dei
lavori dal titolo burning che Canevari realizza dal 2004, mettendo al rogo
l'una dopo l'altra le icone ed i simboli
sia positivi che negativi della nostra contemporaneità. Dal teschio al
Colosseo, dalla pistola all'albero, fino al libro guida del programma
politico di Adolf Hitler.
Burning Mein Kampf è stato girato in un' interno con una ripresa in camera
fissa, mostrando una figura fuori campo che poggia una copia
della famosa "Bibbia nazista", il Mein Kampf di Adolf Hitler, su uno dei
fuochi di una cucina a gas. Lentamente il libro inizia a bruciare riservando
così alla copia attuale, lo stesso destino
che il regime nazista, in nome di un preciso programma politico nazionalista
e totalitario, decise di infliggere dal 1933 al 1944 a migliaia di libri e
opere d'arte, considerate dalla dittatura hitleriana "degenerate".
Ricordando così precedenti illustri da Giordano Bruno al Savonarola fino
alle note immagini cinematografiche in cui bruciano le pile di libri nel
film di Truffaut, Fahreinheit 451, Canevari stesso afferma:
" L'arte deve portare a pensare,deve offrire la possibilità di riflettere su
aspetti della realtà spesso non percepiti nella loro vera essenza".

Paolo Canevari ha attualmente in corso una mostra personale dal titolo
Decalogo all'Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica di Roma, Palazzo Poli,
visitabile dal 3 ottobre fino al 3 Novembre 2008. Della mostra è disponibile

Studio Stefania Miscetti is proud to announce the show of a new unpublished
Paolo Canevari's video work titled Burning Mein Kampf. The work has been
produced in 2008 and is a part of the biggest serie of Canevari's "burning"
works that he has started in 2004, burning, one after the others, the icons
and symbols positives and negatives of our contemporary. From the skull to
the Colosseum, from the gun to the tree till the guide book of Adolf
Hitler's politic program.
Burning Mein Kampf was shoot in an inside scene with a fixed shot, it shows
a figure off putting a copy of the "nazist bible", the Mein Kampf of Adolf
Hitler, on a gas cooker. The book slowly begins to burn so the copy was
subjected to the same destiny in which more than million of art works and
books, between 1933 and 1944, has been burned by the Nazi dictatorship,
because they consider them "degenerates". Remembering renowned ancestors as
Giordano Bruno and Savonarola till Francois Truffaut with his, Fahreinheit
451,in the famous shot of burned books, Canevari says: " the art should lead
to thinking, reflecting on some aspects of reality often not perceived in
their real nature"
