Our main ideas are to present to our visitors/students and artists the proud City of St. Petersburg, Russia with its glorious past, its architecture, its arts. We intend to tell you and show you about its maritime and commercial past, science, philosophy, literature, diplomacy, culture and the many other facets of life that in many ways present the avant-garde throughout this historical place of Europe.

The goal of the Culture Program is to contribute to the renewal, development and integration of the different spheres of Russian and American Culture in the context of Global Culture. The programs encourage experimentation, qualitative innovation, co-operation among the various Russian ethnic and minority cultures, and creative contacts with Western and Eastern cultures.

These program blocks comprise the programs of Cultural Infrastructures, Performing Arts, and the Soros and Paul Getty Centers for Contemporary Arts. Jointly with the Publishing Program, presentation of Russian Culture was undertaken at the East-West festival in Die (France). A wide variety of attractions was offered to the visitors of that festival, from folk crafts to publishing. Over 500 American Artists , teachers and students participated in that 26-day event.
