Parallel World: Fleeting Realities

Affrontare le apparenti dicotomie della realta’ per una percezione diversa e sfaccettata del nostro vissuto: e’ quello che si propongono i 17 artisti partecipanti a Parallel World: Fleeting Realities . Nella pur vasta scelta di tematiche affrontate dai diversi artisti,la contraddizione e' uno degli argomenti che caratterizza maggiormente il loro lavoro.Pur abbracciando forme di espressione artistica molto diverse- si passa dalla pittura all’installazione, dalla performance alla video art-si puo' individuare in questo tema un solido terreno comune che li unisce.

Parte da questo presupposto un’indagine sulle sfuggenti realta’ che ci circondano e che vengono catturate per essere fissate in materia e che ci permettono una riflessione sulla “ spaccatura fra stati opposti” . Ci si interroga quindi tra cio’ che e’ conosciuto e tra cio’ che non lo e’, tra cerebrale e sensuale, tra parola e antiparola, tra l’attrattivo e il repulsivo proseguendo l’indagine sul significato dell’ascesa e discesa dell’uomo e la sua relazione tra codici e simboli, il confine tra uno spazio onirico velato di misticismo moderno che si contrappone all’esperienza di un quotidiano solo apparentemente banale.

Gli artisti di Fleeting Realities portandoci nel territorio degli opposti sembrano voler allargare la spaccatura che si crea tra gli elementi e i sentimenti antitetici e cosi' facendo sembrano volerci suggerire che gli opposti, in realta',non sono altro che sfumature di una stessa idea.

To address the apparent dichotomy of reality for a different and multifaceted perception of our lived experience: This is what the 17 artists participating in Parallel World: Fleeting Realities propose. In the vast range of topics covered by various artists, contradiction is one of the topics that most characterizes their work. Though embracing very different forms of artistic expression - switching from painting to installation, from performance to video art-we can find in this topic a solid common ground that unites them.

From that premise begins a survey on the elusive realities surrounding us which are caught to be fixed on matter to allow us to reflect on the "rift between opposite positions." One wonders then between what is known and what is not, between cerebral and sensual, between word and anti-word, between the attractive and the repulsive pursuing the inquiry on the meaning of the ascent and descent of man and his relation between codes and symbols, the boundary between a dream of veiled modern mysticism as opposed to the experience of the ordinary which is only apparently trivial.

The artists of Fleeting Realities while taking us in the territory of opposites seem interested in widening the rift created between the elements and antithetical feelings and by doing so they seem willing to suggest that the opposites, in reality are merely shades of the same idea.
