Goldin+Senneby

Index - the Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation, Stockholm

In the project Headless the artist duo make use of varying theatrical gestures to expose strategies of withdrawal used by the financial offshore industry. Headless is a project which is articulated while being executed. oldin+Senneby have commissioned author John Barlow, using the pseudonym K.D., to function as a ghostwriter of a murder mystery that surveys the process of creation where both real and fictional characters are allowed to appear in the story and in reality.

comunicato stampa

curated by Mats Stjernstedt and Helena Holmberg

with Angus Cameron (economic geographer), K.D. (fictional author), Kim Einarsson (curator/writer), Anna Heymowska (set designer), Marcus Lindeen (director) and Eva Rexed (actor)

The artist duo Goldin+Senneby works collaboratively since 2004; staging actions, presentations, seminars and discussions as a mode of investigating juridical, financial and spatial constructs.

In the project Headless, which began in 2007 with the investigation of the offshore company Headless Ltd located in the Bahamas, the artists make use of varying theatrical gestures to expose strategies of withdrawal used by the financial offshore industry. Headless is a project which is articulated while being executed. Goldin+Senneby have commissioned author John Barlow, using the pseudonym K.D., to function as a ghostwriter of a murder mystery that surveys the process of creation where both real and fictional characters are allowed to appear in the story and in reality.

When Index exhibits the latest development in this slowly evolving project, Headless is given its first physical manifestation in Stockholm. The exhibition Headless - From The Public Record presents a new chapter of the novel Looking for Headless together with an opening night artist talk in which Angus Cameron, the artists’ representative in the exhibition, discusses with curator Kim Einarsson in a setting by Anna Heymowska.

Opening 4 November 2009, 5 pm-8 pm
Artist talk 6.30pm-7.30pm. Please be in time. No entrance during the artist talk.
