Per la prima volta insieme in Italia i 3 artisti tedeschi, definiti dalla critica internazionale “nuovi maestri dell’astrattismo costruttivista europeo”, propongono nuovi lavori all’interno di un percorso espositivo pensato ed ideato site specific, costituito da interventi individuali che i tre artisti hanno realizzato specificamente per lo spazio di Galleria S.A.L.E.S.

Lo spettatore entrando si trova avvolto all’interno di un ambiente in cui il connubio tra le opere d’arte e lo spazio è preponderante. Le due sale espositive, per quest’occasione, non sono solo un “cubo bianco”, un’area neutra dove installare le opere ma diventano parte integrante del “concetto” stesso che regola i principi centrali alla base dell’esposizione.
Lo spazio si trasforma in un’immagine da indagare costantemente, al fine di trovare il modo in cui esso possa essere definito, adornato e riempito.

Nel diverso contesto creato in galleria, lo spettatore è subito messo nella condizione di dover interagire con nuove ‘dinamiche spaziali’: una tenda posizionata all’ingresso ‘nasconde’ l’ambiente espositivo, dove il bianco dei muri è stato sostituito da un grigio scuro e da un wall painting dello stesso colore; sul fondo della sala più piccola un wall work di carta argentata ripropone un motivo architettonico.

Le pareti sono così usate come display per disegni e dipinti, concorrendo in questo inedito concetto espositivo, a creare un’idea di spazialità tridimensionale.
Sebbene il titolo richiami le tele con i tagli o i buchi di Lucio Fontana (1899 – 1968), Dobliar, Ribbeck e Wieser hanno scelto di giocare con il significato letterale di Concetto Spaziale, facendo della visionarietà una delle loro linee guida, rifiutando qualsiasi imposizione pre-definita

Il principio che accomuna gli artisti è il recupero di elementi sia estetici che “acmeisti-futuristi” dell’avanguardia storica costruttivista. La fonte iconografica “dell’espressionismo astratto” e “dell’astrazione geometrica” viene riproposta in chiave modernista.

Hansjoerg Dobliar (1970), vive e lavora tra Monaco e Berlino. La pittura di Dobliar è caratterizzata dalla voluta e studiata imperfezione. Le sue composizioni si presentano prive di apparente armonia, perfettamente “imbrattate”, riuscendo sempre a sprigionare un intenso pathos, un fascino particolare arricchito di significati “sublimi”.

Bernd Ribbeck (1974), vive e lavora a Berlino. La ricerca linguistica di Ribbeck fa riferimento ad un vocabolario di forme, dove l’analogia con l’architettura (Angiolo Mazzoli, 1894-1979) è ben evidente. Egli tende a sviluppare un linguaggio originale pur conservando affinità con “l’ABC dell’astrattismo Europeo del primo novecento” (Frieze).

Claudia Wieser (Freilassing, 1973), vive e lavora a Berlino. L’espressionismo, l’astrazione geometrica e gli ideali della Bauhaus sono elementi stilistici di epoche passate che l’artista riesce a declinare attraverso una fusione spregiudicata. Le sue composizioni sono sciolte e generose, abbandonano tutti quei particolari di forma e di colore non indispensabili; trascura gli aspeti formali troppo minuziosi realizzando così un’arte estremamente complessa e forte.

In this exhibition the union between works and space is predominant, and the audience perceives it immediately once inside. Galleria S.A.L.E.S. ceases to be only a “white cube”, as it has been defined. The two rooms, composing the gallery are directly involved in the concept of the exhibition. The space becomes “an image” to observe in order to discover the ways it can be defined, adorned and filled.

Within this modified contest of the gallery, the audience has to interact with the new dynamics of the space. The entrance is separated from the exhibition area by a curtain, the walls aren’t white anymore but dark grey and a wall painting of the same colour adorns them and on the last wall in the back space there is a wall-work in silver foil that replicates an architectural motif.
In this diverse set-up the walls serve as display for the paper-works and paintings, creating in this way a three-dimensional space.
Although the title is clearly a reference to Lucio Fontana (1899–1968), Dobliar, Ribbeck and Wieser confront as well with the literally meaning of the concetto cspaziale; guided by a visionary ideal they refuse any predetermined imposition.

The three artists share a common interest in the aesthetic and “acmeisti-futuristi” elements of the constructivist historical avant-garde, proposing in a modern key, the iconographic origin of “abstract expressionism” and “geometrical abstraction”.

Hansjoerg Dobliar (1970), lives and works between Munich and Berlin.
Dobliar’s works are “imperfect”, devoidof seeming harmony, perfectly mucked up. Instead of seeking for comfort and mixing with the contest, he is always able to release an intense pathos, a special fascination enriched by “sublime” significance.

Bernd Ribbeck (1974), lives and works in Berlin. The work of Ribbeck refers to a dictionary of forms, where the analogy with architecture is extremely evident (Angiolo Mazzoli, 1894-1979).
This German artist develops an original language although “there are analogies with the ABC of early European abstract painting”. (Frieze).

Claudia Wieser (Freilassing, 1973), lives and works in Berlin. Expressionism, geometric abstraction and the aesthetic ideals of the Bauhaus are stylistic elements of past epochs she combines together through an unprejudiced fusion.
Her compositions are very loose and generous, independent from un-necessary patterns, colours and details; she neglects the standard idea of formal aspects realizing a strong and complex art.
