In his film, Hausladen juxtaposes a mythical, emotional place of nature with a technically conditioned man-made space. The title Adyton refers to the inaccessible, holy inner space in temples in Ancient Greece, that is completely sealed off from the outside. Adyton is the prelude to a new joint project aimed at promoting the work of young video artists by creating a dialogue between art and design.
Every night for one whole year from 17.10.2010 onwards, a new video will project light and movement from the museum into the street outside: Victor Hausladen's film ADYTON was created in 2010 especially for the wall installation 'Art of Car Design' that is visible from outside and which was conceived by BMW Design for Die Neue Sammlung - The International Design Museum Munich in 2002.

'ADYTON' is the prelude to a new joint project between the BMW Group Design and the Neue Sammlung based in the Pinakothek der Moderne, aimed at promoting the work of young video artists by creating a dialogue between art and design. The project includes an annual competition for college students to be held from 2011 onwards. The award-winning work can then be viewed every night for one year from outside.
The first competition is being held in cooperation with the Hochschule fuer Fernsehen und Film (HFF; University of Television and Film Munich): Bridging the gap to the Museum's new neighbours. From 2011, the HFF will be sited next to the Neue Sammlung and the Pinakothek der Moderne in the 'Kunstareal' museum complex.
