Stefanie Gerhardt’s (born 1974) exhibition space is filled with both whirling motion and breathtaking stillness. Her sculptures, drawings and video works mainly focus on humans and mice, children and adults, who all find themselves in rooms in which time seems to stand still, just to keep on running again in the next second. Visitors become part of this game of seeing and being seen, they meet “painting” mice, a girl constantly swinging back and forth and humans who let time pass by “INSIDE”, like in a vacuum.
Children and adolescents are welcome to contribute to a “swing archive” with photos of swings on playgrounds, in gardens and inside.
