-scopeLos Angeles will feature 50 international exhibitors, who will present one-person and thematic group exhibitions in the intimate rooms of a hotel. Additionally, -scopeLos Angeles will present its Cinema-scope program which, will be screened at next year’s Sundance Film Festival.

-scope Art Fair Inc. is pleased to announce that the second annual –scopeLos Angeles will take place from Friday, May 21 through Monday, May 24, 2004, at the The Standard Hollywood, located at 8300 Sunset Boulevard.

-scopeLos Angeles will feature 50 international exhibitors, who will present one-person and thematic group exhibitions in the intimate rooms of a hotel. Additionally, -scopeLos Angeles will present its Cinema-scope program which, will be screened at next year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Culture on the Verge, the Friday opening night party, begins at 9pm. Festivities will take place in the exhibitors’ rooms (2nd floor) and throughout the Standard until 2am. -scopeTV’s very own LaLa Pantzeroff will lead revelers on a red carpet journey into the untamed art world. Prior to Culture on the Verge, -scope will be hosting a benefit for Los Angeles County Museum of Art (see below for details).

The Emerging Artist Grant for –scopeLos Angeles 2003 has been awarded to Daniel Gordon. The recipient of the Independent Curator Award for -scopeNew York 2004 has been awarded to Sarah Belden & Nicole Wong who will be curating a show titled Pulp Figuration at –scopeLos Angeles.

Curated by the -scopeCircle Committee for Emerging Art, made up of Los Angeles based curators and collectors. Located at 360 North Camden Drive. (Open to public Wednesday - Friday 12-6pm.)

Bidding begins. Proceeds to benefit -scope grants and awards in addition to Reaching to Embrace Arts and Lincoln Heights Arts Collective, local art and education programs.

Private party to benefit LACMA. Tickets are $100 for 1 and $150 for 2. Includes access to Culture on the Verge.
