Visually Rich and Readily Affordable the SYDNEY AFFORDABLE ART SHOW
Makes Buying Art Easy
Returning to Fox Studios 21-25 July

Following the enormous success of 2003 Sydney Affordable Art Show, this four-day showcase of Australian—and now international Art, will return to the Royal Hall of Industries near Fox Studios from Wednesday 21 July through to Sunday 25 July, 2004.
The Sydney Affordable Art Show has established itself as a diverse, accessible and exciting event on Sydney's annual calendar that offers people the chance to purchase a range of quality original artwork all for under $5000 in a relaxed and fun environment. Over 13000 visitors attended the first show in 2003, ranging from families to young professionals, new home-owners to grandparents, budding artists to corporate executives, all keen to see and purchase the wide range of quality original artwork on sale.
The 2004 Sydney Affordable Art Show will showcase over 110 galleries from across Australia and overseas who will be representing over 400 artists covering a wide variety of styles including painting, indigenous work, photography, sculpture, etchings, glass, limited edition prints and ceramics.
The outstanding success of the first show in 2003 has ensured the return of many of Australia's galleries as well as enticing new galleries and artists to exhibit. New galleries exhibiting this year include Ann Snell Gallery, Counter Art, fotosource, Kalli Rolfe Contemporary Art, Höglund Art Glass Gallery and Lesley Kehoe Galleries. Returning galleries to the Sydney Affordable Art Show include Coo-ee Aboriginal Art, East and West Art, Conny Dietzschold Gallery, JamFactory Contemporary Craft and Design and Alcaston Gallery.
“By participating in the second Sydney Affordable Art Show Alcaston Gallery has the opportunity to continue to reach new collectors by presenting affordable art works by both established and fledging artists,” said Director, Beverly Knight. “Although it is commonly believed that art collections are a privilege reserved for the wealthy few, in fact, collections are often well founded with the purchase of an inexpensive but much loved artwork”.
An exciting new edition to the second Sydney Affordable Art Show will be the inclusion of international galleries which broadens the scope of art styles for buyers. Galleries include Gallerie Yoromgil from Beverly Hills USA, Tallantyre Gallery from Northern England, London’s Will's Art Warehouse and six galleries from New Zealand.

Key national art publications are also returning to exhibit at the 2004 Sydney Affordable Art Show including the Australian Art Market Report, Art Almanac and The Australian Art Collector.
The concept of the Affordable Art Show is to take the fear away from learning more about art and making owning an original artwork a reality for more people. The idea was launched by a gallery owner in London, UK. “When I launched The Affordable Art Fair London in 1999 I wanted to take the intimidation factor out of buying original art by educating, entertaining and making it more accessible. We now have fairs twice a year in London, New York and Bristol. I am delighted that this concept has taken off in Sydney and Melbourne. Australians have clearly embraced the user-friendly approach, much better than the often snobby art world that exists in New York and London,” said Will Ramsay, owner of Will’s Art Warehouse and founder of the affordable art concept.
