Group show

he Artist's Dining Room explores the ways in which artists are reinvigorating the language of abstraction, in both painting and sculpture, through the use of brilliant paints, shiny surfaces and unexpected materials. Featured artists include Manfred Kuttner, Anselm Reyle and Thomas Scheibitz.

Anselm Reyle's large-scale abstract paintings and found-object sculptures, which sample motifs from art history, are created using trashy, glitzy materials and colours, whilst Thomas Scheibitz’s complex constructions are inspired by the more recognisable and structured forms of architecture, landscape, design and flora. Introducing an overlooked figure from the past, Manfred Kuttner’s delicate, geometric paintings in neon date from the 1960s and were created when the artist shared a studio with Gerhard Richter.
