Tres Artistas MADI Venezolanos

Museum of geometric and Madi Art, Dallas

Angel Hernandez, Octavio Herrera, and Saverio Cecere. The works featured in this exhibit are bold and structured, but relaxed and playful. Hernandez depicts a spatial conundrum with planes ascending and descending upon each other in an illusionary manner. The work of Herrera investigates intersecting planes represented by lines and tonal parallelograms indicating transparency. Cecere uses distorted shape to represent an unseen dimension of movement similar to the currents of water or wind.

The exhibit, Tres Artistas MADI Venezolanos opens November 14 at the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art. The three artists with Venezuelan roots will lead a discussion at the Arcadia Salon Series on Thursday, November 13 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. They will also attend the opening reception from 6:30 – 7:30. Both events are free and open to the public. The exhibition will run through February 15, 2009.

The works featured in this exhibit are bold and structured, but relaxed and playful - a contradiction not usually found resolved in pure geometric art.
