comunicato stampa

The year 2010 brings a major change in presenting Czech photography.
The positive experience and public response in the past two years when PRAGUE PHOTO was held in Prague led us to a plan to enrich the one-week event by a simultaneous month-long festival of curators' projects.
PRAGUE PHOTO is again based on the structure of private galleries with their own exhibition programme, individual photographers, and editors. Young artist are broadly represented by way of their schools. Those interested may buy the exhibited photos, take part in lectures by professionals, discussion panels, meet artists.
Throughout the month of April the PRAGUE PHOTO FESTIVAL will offer twelve accompanying photo exhibitions in museums, galleries and cultural centres around the capital city. The aim is to remind the public of the extensive history of the Czech photography and to introduce its present image.
The PRAGUE PHOTO management wishes to thank all its collaborators and partners who have assisted in organizing this major event, we thank for the support of the City of Prague, and for permanent support of the general partner UniCredit Bank Czech Republic, a.s., who annually awards a prize for an artist under 35 years of age.
