Surface, solo exhibition. The pathway which the artist suggests is first an experience of reversal. In the first place the minimalism of the shapes that we experience visually is constantly contradicted by the sounds emerging from them (one of the characteristics of Inao's language is that of hiding speakers within the objects, so that the sounds appear to be produced by the objects themselves).
The pathway which Inao suggests is first and foremost an experience of “reversal.”
In the first place, indeed, the minimalism of the shapes that we experience visually is constantly contradicted by the sounds emerging from them (one of the characteristics of Inao’s language is that of hiding speakers within the objects, so that the sounds appear to be produced by the objects themselves).
The sonic dimension carries us to a second, higher and more important level of “reversal.” The “cold” surfaces and lines, frozen in their eternal, geometrical lack of life, de facto sing the essence of life! Indeed, we hear those natural sounds which permeate our daily lives resonating from them.
In this space, so formally described by Inao, between skewed and parallel lines, life takes place – as in a crescendo (which is already anticipated in the works’ titles, where from tones we move to palpitations, and then to flux, to flowing, namely to movement and life).
In this cosmogonic journey the work ‘Nails ’ represents the last stage: the highest step. The “sound of action” operates in it: reason, the Nous, hides behind it, inside of it. Here therefore the path attains its last “reversal”: its initial conceptual form, geometrical and coldly theoretical, evolves, and, in stages, caressed by the breath of life, reaches its own spirituality, identifying with it.
