In 1993 Dellbrugge & de Moll spent a year in a garret studio in Kunst-Werke Berlin. A rediscovered film from this period forms the basis for the exhibition "Kunstwerke '93 Sparwasser HQ '02". The 36 snapshots emulate crime scene photographs. The ambience created is one of desertion and neglect. Each object could potentially be a piece of circumstantial evidence: the portfolio, the empty keyhooks, the champagne bottle beside purse. But clues to what act? What crime are we witnessing?

Opening on Thursday July 18. from 7 PM
through August 18.
In 1993 Dellbrügge & de Moll spent a year in a garret studio in Kunst-Werke
Berlin. A rediscovered film from this period forms the basis for the
exhibition "Kunstwerke '93 Sparwasser HQ '02". The 36 snapshots emulate
crime scene photographs. The ambience created is one of desertion and
neglect. Each object could potentially be a piece of circumstantial
evidence: the portfolio, the empty keyhooks, the champagne bottle beside
purse. But clues to what act? What crime are we witnessing?
Kunst-Werke has blossomed out from an alternative artist-run off-space with
rhizomatic activities to a state supported institution. Who could have
suspected this development back then? Do the photographs contain hints of
this imminent career?
Sparwasser HQ has all this still before it.
Concurrent exhibition: Dellbügge & de Moll "The gallery I'm dreaming of..."

Over the summer Sparwasser HQ is turned into an association of public
utility (e.V.). This is a result of the dialog around the project of
Dellbrügge & de Moll.
The association is a model for overcoming economic difficulties for
the non-profit project Sparwasser HQ, difficulties until now
neglected in favour of the degree of activity and the many events,
which have been carried out within the last two years.

Sparwasser will in the future continue the practice of artist curated
projects, where collaborative and discursive research has a first
priority.
Additional to this process Sparwasser invites art and curatorial
workers to meet twice a month in Torstrasse 161 in Berlin Mitte:
July 23. and July 30. both at 7 PM 'artists talk' will be announced .
These events are offering especially Berlin curators to get together
and mutual meet emerging artists in an intimate situation. On these
occasions three artists will show their recent works, seen in the
context of their body of works.
