The SLG Live Art programme continues with a series that looks at collaboration. Some artists in the programme are well known collaborators who will develop new work for the series while others will be performing together for the first time. Painters, poets, classical musicians, film-makers, video and live artists will come together at the SLG over one day and five nights to generate a series of dynamic cross artform dialogues.

10am - 8pm Monday 2 September
work-seth/tallentire
The first in the series is a durational performance by
work-seth/tallentire and is the only one that will be taking place in
the Gallery during the day. work-seth/tallentire have been
collaborating on performances, exhibitions and projects since 1993.
7.30pm Tuesday 3 September
OB/BO
Painter Joan Key (words) collaborates with Jayne Parker (film),
Christopher Mansell (music), Anton Lukoszevieze (cello), Lore
Lixenberg (voice) and David Ryan (clarinet) on a performance that
brings together poetry music and film.
7.30pm Wednesday 4 September
Where was I?
Marcia Farquhar and J. Maizlish
A dialogue between performer and prompter. The narration
recollects a shared outing to the Tivoli Gardens. Any diversions or
digressions from the co-authored text will be carefully monitored
from the prompters box.
7.30pm Thursday 5 September
Caroline Bergvall and Jo Joelson with Lewis Gibson
Poet Caroline Bergvall will work with light artist Jo Joelson and
sound technician Lewis Gibson to transform the gallery into a
space of contrasting darkness and light. Bergvall will guide the
audience through a poetic narrative using live voice and wall based
text.
7.30pm Friday 6 September
The withdrawal from conversation/the return to the Oceanic: the
weight of the breast
Fabienne Audoud and John Russell have worked collaboratively on
performances and exhibitions for the past two years. For Sum of
the Parts they will stage an idea by a third artist, London based
painter Wayne Lloyd.
All evening performances are £5/£2.50 concessions,
work-seth/tallentire's performance is free. Doors open at 7.15pm
and there is no advance booking.
Special performance
7.30pm Tuesday 10 September
Following the postponement of her performance in April the SLG
is pleased to announce that Sandra Johnston will be returning to the
gallery for one night to re-interpret and perform her original idea.
