Works until 1945
His love for geometrical objects spins a golden thread through the entire oeuvre of Hermann Glöckner. Already in his early drawings, the compositions’ lines, that structure the picture, can be noted, later becoming the principle of his “Tafelwerk” (corpus of plates). They finally led to his folding and three-dimensional objects after 1945.
The exhibition of the Kupferstich-Kabinett devotes itself to the development of the earlier unconsciously used design and also explores his later, more consistent remarks. The exhibition only shows works until 1945. Simultaneously with the exhibition, the catalogue raisonne of all drawings and paintings to 1945 by Hermann Glöckner will be published.
