More Songs About Buildings and Bells. In 1999, Stephen Vitiello was the recipient of a WorldViews residency in the World Trade Center's Tower One. He writes that the 'first sound that I ever heard through my contact microphones was church bells coming from somewhere in the distance'. These memories resonated with Vitiello during his recent preparation for A Bell for Every Minute, his long-term installation currently on the High Line. For his first solo exhibition at Museum 52's New York space he will bring together these two projects in the form of a video (edited and seen here for the first time) recorded during the WorldViews residency, and a new sound work composed from the multiple recordings used for A Bell for Every Minute.
