The fair features modern and contemporary art from the UK but has a significant number of dealers who specialise in work from China, India, Japan, Russia, Poland, Serbia and the Ukraine.

However, art from a whole host of other countries will also be on show. Artists include Matisse, Miró, Picasso and Chagall (all works on paper), urban art from the States, MF Husain, one of India’s most sought after living artists, plus British 20th century favourites such as Henry Moore, David Hockney, Mary Fedden et al, together with many emerging and less well known artists whose work will be there to be discovered and enjoyed.

More stands!
The fair, now in its fifth year, has carved out a place for itself in the arts calendar and such is the demand for stands, the organisers are taking more space at the Royal College. There will now be a total of 60 exhibitors bringing together work from all over the world.

Included will be oils, original prints, watercolours, drawings, collage, some photography and sculpture – ranging in period from 1900 to the present day. The price range is from a few hundred upwards.

Ever increasing interest in art
Judging from the visitor numbers reported at recent London fairs and major art galleries, interest in art seems to be on the increase. In an uncertain economic climate with low interest rates, many are putting money into works of art that also bring them pleasure every day. People may not be moving house but there is always room for another well-priced picture!

"This will be the fifth year of the fair" say the organisers, Gay Hutson and Angela Wynn who also run the successful 20|21 British Art Fair each September at the same venue. "Each year it gets better and better – both dealers and visitors really like the variety of art on offer, the accessible price range, the manageable size and, most importantly, the friendly atmosphere".

Recent research has shown that society in the UK is now more cosmopolitan than ever. This diversity is reflected in today’s art scene in general, and in the 20|21 International Art Fair, in particular.

The 20|21 International Art Fair will take place at the Royal College of Art, in Kensington Gore, London SW7, from 17-20 February 2011. It will be opened by Simon Jenkins at 12 noon on the 17th.
