An exhibition celebrating 15 Years of the Slade Centre for Electronic Media in Fine Art. From 22 February: "Going Nowhere 2" by Simon Faithfull
To celebrate 15 years of ground breaking research in electronic media, the Slade Centre for Electronic Media in Fine Art (SCEMFA) will hold a 14 week exhibition, showing new works from eight internationally acclaimed artists: who use emerging practices to explore electronic and digital media, as both a source and material. An exhibition that revolves every fortnight between each artist, acting as a showcase for the best of contemporary art in the UK, and highlighting the Slade's pivotal role in the history, development and current research in the many varied forms of electronic media. From 22 February to 6 March "Going Nowhere 2" by Simon Faithfull: A walk through a landscape at the bottom of the Adriatic sea. A figure dressed in jeans and a white shirt walks past the camera. Moving slowly and with great difficulty through the swirling water he eventually disappears into the murky gloom of the near distance. It is not obvious where he is going or how he is surviving 10 meters below the surface of the sea but he seems to heading somewhere.
