A series of photographs taken between 1981 and '86 at the Chelsea
Reach Club, New Brighton, England. A progenitor of the New Wave of
British Photography, Wood's work has become highly visible within the
past years. This Spring he was short-listed for the Beck's Futures
award, organized by the ICA London; during the Photo-Festival in
Arles (France) he has received the Prix Dialogue l' Humanité 2002
(Outreach Award). A solo exhibition will open at the Kasseler
Kunstverein on August 23 and travel to the Staedtisch Museum
Wolfsburg this fall. In addition to four publications since 1998, a
fifth book on his work "Photiman" will be published by Hatje Cantz
this fall.
