Robin Meier & Ali Momeni
The Tragedy of the Commons

Coming from musical backgrounds, Robin Meier & Ali Momeni develop a complex practice in which science is mixed with a hybrid art form. The Tragedy of the Commons is a facility where thousands of Atta ants - nicknamed leaf-cutter ants - produce a choreography by reacting to carefully choses colors and smells. Amplified, the sound of the ants generates textures in the image of their movements within an architectural structure, acoustic and automated.

Olaf Breuning
The Art Freaks

The work of Olaf Breuning draws on the visual codes of mass culture. As part of recent research on the artist's relation to the history of modern and contemporary art, The Art Freaks unfolds in space via a couple of banners hanging from the ceiling. On each of these standards is printed a photograph showing us a character whose body is painted in the manner of an iconic artist (Francis Bacon, Louise Bourgeois, Damien Hirst, On Kawara, Yves Klein, Jackson Pollock, Vincent Van Gogh, Andy Warhol ...). Olaf Breuning and takes the practice of body-painting, skirting on the edges of bad taste and heightened artistic value.

LES MODULES - Fondation PIERRE BERGE' - Yves Saint Laurent

The Palais de Tokyo is undergoing in 2011 a partial remodeling of its exhibition spaces and will reopen in its entirety in spring 2012. These constraints birth new creativity and the Palais de Tokyo improvises and invites artists to develop the building’s new and intervening spaces. The program is built around the progress of one room, which is constantly being transformed through each artist’s intervention. In addition, the program for the Modules Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent, which has brought to light more than a hundred new artists, will also benefit from heightened visibility. In 2011, during the renovation, the exhibitions continue and are open from noon to 9 pm.
