The spotlight is on Slovenia. Showcasing 18 artists and more than 50 pieces of their work
At this year's exhibition within our series on 'Contemporary Art from the Member States of the EU', the spotlight is on Slovenia - a country that is celebrating 20 years of independence on 25 June 2011. Showcasing 18 artists and more than 50 pieces of their work, this exhibition - organised in association with Banka Slovenije - provides a broad snapshot of the creations of contemporary Slovenian artists. While paintings take centre stage, also represented are the disciplines of photography, sculpture, drawing and video; indeed, for the first time, three film evenings form part of the exhibition programme, one of which will feature a work by the internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Ema Kugler. Artists: Uros Abram, Ursula Berlot, Ksenija Cerce, Mitja Ficko, Tomaz Gorjup, Marko Jakse, Gasper Jemec, Aleksij Kobal, Matej Kosir, Damijan Kracina, Ema Kugler, Vladimir Leben, Polona Maher, Tanja Pak, Primoz Pugelj, Miha Strukelj, Petra Varl, Lujo Vodopivec.
