A series of photography from five Albanian and German artists. The German photographer Heinrich Volkel visits Albania regularly since 2005; four Albanian photographers and artists visited Germany in 2010.

Albania – 20 years after the fall of communisms from a German perspective
Germany – 20 years after the reunification from an Albanian perspective
The German photographer Heinrich Völkel, visits Albania regularly since 2005. In his photography project “Tirana – Mon Amour“ he is mainly focused on Portraits and Fotoreportage Photography, by trying to document the impressions of the country and its people during the incredible fast going transformation processes in Albania.
His pictures are very simple, with a very formal composition, making possible the creation of an imposing situation and realistically showing the post-communist society 20 years after the fall of the regime in Albania.
Four Albanian photographers and artists visited Germany in 2010. During their stay in Germany they visited different places and met with different people aiming at discovering places and revive history – bringing to the Albanian public a view of Germany 20 years after the unification.
This exhibition is organized by Tirana Art Lab – Contemporary Art Centre in the framework of the German October with the support of the German Embassy in Tirana and the European Culture Foundation. In August 2010 the project was presented to the public in Pogradec at the Art Gallery in Pogradec.
