A Multidisciplinary Program on Power Relations. Norwegian artists are profoundly affected by tragic incidents and some elements of the proposed program can be seen as artistic contributions to a collective mourning process.

comunicato stampa

Curated by Thale Fastvold in collaboration with .NO

Power relations and power structures have become an even more relevant and hotly-debated topic following the acts of terrorism committed in Oslo on 7/22. Naturally, Norwegian artists are also profoundly affected by these tragic incidents, and some elements of the proposed program can be seen as artistic contributions to a collective mourning process.

Created by Inger-Reidun Olsen (N), the founder of the Kompani iRo dance troupe, during a residency at Experimental El Eco in Mexico City, RE-ACTION is a performance that explores the phenomenon of power by probing the ways in which power dynamics affect us. Structured around this time-based piece, the accompanying exhibition will consist of meditations on the same themes by visual artists such as Sverre Malling, Andrea Lange, Christer Karlstad, Vibeke Jensen, Sol Kjøk and Tilda Lovell.

On Oct 22, .NO will host the official launch for the anthology KUNSTNER by curatorial team LOCUS, a reading by Edy Poppy from her recent short story collection Sammen.Brudd, and a panel discussion with several invited Scandinavian & U.S.-based artists.

October 13, 6-8 pm: Opening Reception

October 22, 1-5 pm: Panel Discussion and Book Reading
October 30, 7-8 pm: Premiere Performance of RE-ACTION
by Kompani iRo, with additional showings on
