At Actium and a Tribute to John McCracken. His production of abstraction is rooted in the physical and its differing orders - not as an act of savagery or involuntary disorder, but following a peculiar geometry both on the surface and in space.
“At Actium and a tribute to John McCracken” is the name of Danilo Dueñas current groundbreaking exhibition. Dueñas finds his materials in everyday life and his immediate surroundings. Neon lamps, tires, raw timber, staircase floorboards, intact or disassembled pieces of furniture, packaging materials, or bulky waste make up the fragile balance of Dueñas’ space-filling installations. As if by magic, the object takes on a new world order.
Viewing art as an invitation for speculation, he questions what constellations and orders are possible beyond the given. His production of abstraction is rooted in the physical and its differing orders, -not as an act of savagery or involuntary disorder, but following a peculiar geometry both on the surface and in space. Dueñas demonstrates a radical interpreation of things and their orders in his work. In this show he constructed a new site-specific installation.
