Beim Loslassen der Maus

walldrawing & projection

galerie wieland is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of Swiss artist duo Monica Germann & Daniel Lorenzi. They will present and installation with walldrawings and projection.

Expansion and superimposition are key-notes in Germann & Lorenzi's work. The duo intertwines analogue with digital media, combines walldrawings with projections of animated films and sound. They break up the borders of space thus creating atmospheric environments with their installations.

Also known as their alter egos - DJs Flexin & Flyrobin x{2013} Germann & Lorenzi often use the topic of spinning records in their works. For the exhibition they will create images of a forest / djungle, hosting figures that are involved in a world of plants as well as in a musical world. This topic forms a central interest in their work: the combination of nature and technology.
Besides the wall-filling drawings made with ink and gouache, an audio piece will envelop the show. Using recordings that are sampled and sequenced, an overall sound carpet with increasing and decreasing sound patterns is formed.

Monica Germann & Daniel Lorenzi work together since 1995. They live in Zürich.

The exhibition is supported by Pro Helvetia - Arts Council of Switzerland
