'Through working with the landscape, through plants and animals, I represent these experiences through painting.
Some of these are abstracts some are more figurativex{2026}whether it be a 'Wild Bouquet' of flowers that Ix{2019}ve grown which are looking beautiful or almost dying.
In the past I have traveled extensively, to be inspired by different light and colours of people and fabrics, which then become an abstract canvas.
My work is spontaneous; therefore there is energy in the movement of the paint... The painting has itx{2019}s own process of evolving, to make an image which I am happy with.
Each painting represents a moment, which I want to share. The paintings are usually colourful because I enjoy the challenge tones and proportions with textures face me with. Each painting really is a challengex{2026}because it has to meet my high expectations of withstanding the test of time and still be fresh and exciting having been through a labouring process.'
Catherine studied fine art at Central Saint Martins and graduated in 1996. She is the youngest member of The Royal Watercolour Society, exhibits regularly, including the R.A. summer exhibition and has had private commissions for offices.
Catherine is directed and focused on reflecting the visual world she experiences, finding new ways to express 'natural elements' and 'fragile beauty.'
