The first museum survey in the U.S. of the unique hand-painted photographs by the French collaborative team Pierre & Gilles, who have been working together since 1976. Along with a selection of early works (1982-1988) rooted in mythological iconography, the survey will bring together pieces from Pierre et Gilles' Saints series (1987 and 1991) and their most ambitious series of the 90's, Les Plaisirs de la Fôret. The exhibition will also feature their most recent work including never exhibited before photo-paintings, Saïd (1999) and Autoportrait Sans Visage (1999.) Organized by Senior Curator Dan Cameron.
