Goteborg 2nd International Biennial for Contemporary Art: 27 artists from 14 countries. The exhibition comprises shows at Goteborgs Konsthall, Konstmuseet, the Hasselblad Center and at Konsthallen, part of the Museum of Bohuslan in Uddevalla. Additionally, there will be a number of outdoor works in central of the town. Art not for decorating, apologising or glossing over, but for never giving up hope and never giving in. Goteborg 2nd International Biennial for Contemporary Art reflects and
comments on reality - that preposterous, inexplicable and occasionally
invisible reality we'd most of all like to escape. It does so with art
which refuses to provide an alibi. Art not for decorating, apologising or
glossing over, but for never giving up hope and never giving in. Because
reality also holds answers and solutions, if you only choose to see them.
The Biennial will show work by 27 artists from all over the world. They
work indifferent ways, but share an attitude: they love life and firmly
reject everything that is vapid, uniform and stagnant. And they don't shy
away from moving you by shocking you. So treat yourself to some unreality
escapism. You've got all summer.
