Hemington - Nakao

Andrew Mummery Gallery, London

The first exhibition of the collaborative work of Tim Hemington and Hiroko Nakao. Subtly stretched surfaces are sewn and sprayed and the wet white insides of pressed flowers which have a varnished sheen slide over babies and butterflies.

comunicato stampa

The Andrew Mummery Gallery is pleased to present the first exhibition of the collaborative work of Tim Hemington and Hiroko Nakao.

Lovely life alters artificial art and minimal meetings measure marriages. Cupid changed the creepy collages then pressed and punctured painted photocopies.
He removed and ripped the re-attachments, transforming and transposing, transgressing and transcending.

Brushed blue baby freezes the feminine fumes of flowers while dripped drying dolls dribble and outside, organic qualities ooze emotional entropy.
Subtly stretched surfaces are sewn and sprayed and the wet white insides of pressed flowers which have a varnished sheen slide over babies and butterflies.

Split split and stage struck, plinths, pink and pleated, perform and torn toxic theatrical toys are hidden under splattered sopping skins which stay stapled sticky and sewn.
Machines support stars in patterned puckered pools, wriggling and rendering repeating and romancing.
