Inspired by the homonymous book of Albert Camus, the exhibition “The Outsider” refers to the irrational in a world petrified, lonely, cruel and indifferent. The absurd as a feature of modern society and the behavior of people who remain "foreigners" to themselves and "outsiders" to the surroundings, are aware of their inability to change the flow of life.
The artists with a variety of materials and common language reflect on human behavior in a society that limps and struggles to survive. They observe and record the breakdown of human relationships and the fear of lack of meaning in life. The human figures in the paintings of Kostas Lavdas and the frescoes of Fikos, despite the passive receptivity, do not cease to seek the essence, the truth and the right to the happiness that comes only from within.
