About ten artists from ten countries are invited to present own textil artwork and other artists from own country with slides, video, catalogues.
The 19th International Textile Art Symposium (ITS) and Art Show curated by Prof.Renate Maak will take place at the Bildunghaus Raiffeisenhof in Graz, from July 5th - 12th 2003.
About ten artists from ten countries are invited to present own textil artwork and other artists from own country with slides, video, catalogues. Like every year the artists find conversations, lectures and discussions of pieces inspiring and enriching for longer term since they enable them to learn about textile art in other countries. Also every artists invited to exhibit one artwork, the opening of the exhibition in July 7th 2003 at the 7:30 p.m. and slide/video presentation of the invited artists in the morning.
At the same time the exhibition in honour of the 20th anniversary of the symposium ''20 Javre Internationale Textilkunst Graz'' will take place from July 7th - July 25th 2003. In the contest of festival year (2003 Graz European Cultural Capital), an international exhibition of textile art themed ''Nahtstelle (Seam)''. Around 200 partecipants from 37 countries who have taken part in ITS over the years have been invited to consider the theme and apply. 60 works selected by the jury to exhibit.
For this special event in July 9th 2003 the performance of a Japanese ceremony of Dyeing ''Senshoku-Do'' by the japanese artist Akihiko Izukura.
