Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art
The exhibition will present 30 landscapes selected from all phases of the development of his style
We continue the presentation of the various thematic currents within Dobrovic's painting with the exhibition of his landscape paintings which are classified into four periods, each distinctive for its approach to the landscape. Dobrovic was passionate about nature, which was in keeping with his tumultuous sense of the world around him. For Dobrovic (1890-1942), the harmony of shapes and colours in nature served only as an incentive to bring forth his emotions. Dobrovic's early landscapes: already in his early years the landscape emerges as a topic in its own right, and therefore he makes use of it when working on his paintings with mythological, religious, and historical subject. The exhibition will present thirty landscapes by Petar Dobrovic selected from all phases of the development of his style. (Image: Motiv iz Grocke, 1941) Concept and curation: Zana Gvozdenovic.
