The space has been enabled for the residence and production by HUSOS platform with their Do It Together spatial project at the warehouse 16.1. Now this space has been transformed in an exhibition area that will host 5 individual art projects produced over the last few weeks.
Starting next Wednesday 13th February a huge amount of appointments, events, openings and parties will happen no stop. All of them are related with the celebration of ARCOmadrid 2013, the international contemporary art fair.
Here Together Now is directly related to the fair because it belongs to the FOCUS section, which is devoted each year to a country in order to delve into the art scene of the selected one. This is not limited to the invitation of a number of galleries from the country but also there are proposed different thematic cycles, exhibitions and parallel projects around it in different cultural centres in Madrid.
This year the guest country is Turkey and Matadero proposes among other things, the project Here Together Now, which seeks to build an artistic community, and at the same time strengthen ties between artists and local agents of Madrid and Istanbul. Iz Öztat, Dilek Winchester and Sibel Horada are the Istanbul based artists invited by Matadero. They have been coexisting with the other members of the community during the whole month of January.
The space has been enabled for the residence and production by HUSOS platform with their Do It Together spatial project at the warehouse 16.1. Now this space has been transformed in an exhibition area that will host five individual art projects produced over the last few weeks. The works have been arranged in space in tune between them considering the narrative lines they all hold. These projects are formalized in very different ways (installations, drawings, films, sound work, diagrams, textual works, photography) but there is coherence within the selection based in their commonalities as a strong research base, the process and participatory element.
