Exposition is July 25-27, 2003 at The Herbst Pavillion, Fort Mason
Center.
60 galleries and private dealers from the U.S and Europe present the
finest photographic art dating from 19th century to the most cutting
edge contemporary photography. Last year's event attracted nearly 4000
visitors and more are expected this year.
Collectors, curators, and photographers have an extraordinary
opportunity to view thousands of images. The fair is produced by
Stephen Cohen, sponsor of photo l.a., the Los Angeles Photographic Print
Exposition which celebrated itx{2019}s eleventh year in January.
Works by Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Eugene Atget, Manuel Alvarez Bravo,
Henri Cartier-Bresson, Imogen Cunningham, Edward S. Curtis, Michael
Kenna, Lauren Greenfield, Lynn Geesaman, Andre Kertesz, Robert
Mapplethorpe, Man Ray, Sebastian Salgado, Josef Sudek, Weegee, Edward
Weston and many others will be exhibited for sale.
The opening night reception is Thursday, July 24th from 6-9pm for the
benefit of The Fort Mason Center Historic Preservation Fund. Fort Mason
Center is one of San Franciscox{2019}s most recognizable destinations.
Previously an active military facility, Fort Mason Center is now a
thriving cultural center within the Golden Gate National Recreation
Area. The proceeds will go towards enabling The Fort Mason Foundation
to maintain and preserve this national historic landmark. Tickets for
the benefit are fifty dollars and can be purchased at the door the
evening of the event, or at The Fort Mason Center Box Office prior to

Michael Kenna, has donated two twenty-five print editions for the
benefit of the Fort Mason Center Historic Preservation Fund. The photos

A photographers panel, "Landscape Photography: A View From Here," will
be held Saturday July 26th at 10 a.m. Panelists include bay area
photographers Michael Kenna, David Maisel, Lyle Gomes, and Todd Hido and
Martha Casanave and Alan Ross. A Collecting panel San Francisco
collector and Patron, Paul Sack; Robert Flynn Johnson, Curator in Charge
of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts at The Palace of The Legion
of Honor, Keith F. Davis, Curator of the Hallmark Collection and
collector/gallerist Ursula Gropper. Appraiser, collector and curator
Dale Stulz will moderate the panel.
Collecting Seminars are held before public hours, at 9 a.m., and are
limited to 30 people. This year seminar hosts are Keith Davis, Curator
of The Hallmark Collection, Robert Flynn Johnson Curator in Charge of
the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts at The Palace of The Legion of
Honor, and Nora Kabot, Curator, Site Santa Fe. Please call for the

seminar and include a three-day pass to photo san francisco.
Exhibition hours are Friday, July 25th & Saturday, July 26th, noon?7pm.
Sunday, July 27th, noon - 6pm. Tickets are $15 for one day and $25 for
a 3-day pass. Tickets can be bought at the door or through the Stephen
