In Bordeaux. The exhibition of over a dozen monumental works will be spread throughout the city's public venues. The works on view continue Plensa's use of universal language and signs in his sculptures that silently bear witness to urban life.
Galerie Lelong is pleased to announce the opening of Jaume Plensa in Bordeaux. The exhibition of over a dozen monumental works will be spread throughout the city's public venues. New works on view include Paula (2013), a cast iron sculpture standing over 23 feet tall and Marianna & Awilda (2013), a work in stainless steel composed of figures seated facing one another having a dialogue. The works on view continue Plensa’s use of universal language and signs in his sculptures that silently bear witness to urban life. An illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition.
Jaume Plensa in Bordeaux extends the artist's longstanding work in public venues. Celebrated works by Plensa are located in Millennium Park, Chicago; the Burj Khalifa, Dubai; the BBC Broadcasting Tower, London; Pearson International Airport, Toronto; Daikanyama, Tokyo; and Raoul Wallenberg Square, Stockholm, among many other sites worldwide.
